In 1975, at the age of 17, I enrolled in beauty school as a way to earn a living. Working as a certified esthetician, I began to unearth the mysteries of dermatology and became fascinated with the interlocking relationship between psychological, biological and environmental factors. I grew increasingly encouraged by the transformative effects my services provided. Soon enough, what began as a vocation became a passion.

She is an adjunct instructor at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and is a certified trainer with Franklin Covey and The Chopra Center for Well Being.
In 2005, Dr. Deepak Chopra of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, came into my life, bringing a deeper and more profound understanding of Ayurveda and the mind-body connection. As it turns out, this ultimately led to the inception of DoshaCare.
DoshaCare is the result of my 30-year dance with this ancient philosophy. In fact, this holistic approach touches every aspect of my life, albeit it in a very Western way. Like many of you, I am a western consumer who enjoys the conveniences and advantages of the Westernized culture but, at times, seek refuge and balance in what can be a very chaotic world. I felt it was important to develop a product line that merged the ancient traditions of the East with the scientific advances of the West. What resulted was a practical, highly effective product that comes as close to natural skin treatment as humanly possible.
The choices we make to live healthy, balanced lives, the responsibility we take to leave the world better than we found it, the way we share of ourselves and care for ourselves, what we take in and what we give back – these are all highly personal approaches to life that make each of us who we are. At DoshaCare, we believe in a holistic approach to beauty, authentic beauty starts from the inside and radiates outward. Inner peace, outer health, ageless living -- this is our vision for a beautiful you, and a beautiful world.
Sincerely,
Patty Schmucker

For centuries, Ayurvedic tradition has been steeped in the belief that beauty is achieved through lifestyle choices that nourish the body and fulfill the mind. According to this belief, every factor, internal and external, greatly affects our inner being and subsequently, our outward beauty. In recognition of this belief, DoshaCare assembled an advisory board to serve as an all-encompassing resource for consumers who wish discover their authentic radiance through the inspiration of Ayurvedic wisdom. Twice a year, ideas from experts in fields such as holistic dentistry, aromatherapy, nutrition, herbology, and social and environmental responsibility convene on the pages of the DoshaCare Holistic Lifestyle Report to encourage consumers to apply Ayurvedic principals to every aspect of their lives.
